What Ace Does
Ace is an AI chat assistant embedded inside Follow Up Boss. It answers questions about your contacts, recommends next actions, helps draft messages, creates tasks, and gives you real-time coaching — all without leaving FUB.
Ace reads your CRM live: contact history, notes, pipeline stage, tags, deal status, and recent activity. It does not have access to your personal email inbox, calendar, or any data outside your Follow Up Boss account.
Opening Ace
Click the Ace widget button in the bottom corner of any FUB page. The panel opens on the right side of your screen.
If you see a "Connect Follow Up Boss" screen: your session token expired. Click it once — reconnects in seconds, no password required.
When you have a contact open in FUB, Ace knows who you're looking at and automatically answers questions in the context of that person. Switch contacts and Ace switches context too.
Getting Good Answers
Specific questions get specific answers. The more context you give, the better Ace responds.

Session history is the number of messages Ace keeps in context within a single session. History resets when you close and reopen the widget — each session starts fresh with current CRM data.

Voice Chat (Pro Only)
Tap the microphone icon to speak instead of type. Ace uses the same AI model for voice and text. Tips for best results:
- Use in a reasonably quiet environment
- Speak in complete questions or sentences
- Pause briefly before and after your question
- If Ace misheard, you can type a correction — mixing voice and text in a session works fine
Creating Tasks and Notes
Ace always shows a draft and asks for confirmation before creating anything. Examples:
- "Create a call task for Thursday at 10am" → Ace shows the task details, you confirm or edit
- "Add a note: Buyer mentioned they want to be in before school starts in August" → Ace previews the note, you approve
- "Apply the Active Buyer action plan" → Ace shows which plan and asks you to confirm
To cancel anything in progress, say "stop" or "never mind."
What Ace Cannot Do
- Send messages, emails, or texts without your explicit approval (Regular) — or ever on Free
- Create, edit, or delete contacts in FUB
- Access your personal email inbox or calendar
- Make phone calls
- Access data outside your FUB account
- Remember previous chat sessions — each session starts fresh
- Access contacts assigned to other team members beyond what FUB permissions allow
Troubleshooting
Ace says it can't find a contact I know exists.
Check if the contact is assigned to another agent — Ace follows FUB's access rules. If you should have access but don't, contact your admin.
Ace gave me wrong information about a contact.
Ace reads live CRM data, but if a contact has missing or outdated notes/tags, the response will reflect that. Update the CRM data and ask again.
The widget isn't loading.
Refresh your FUB page. If the issue persists, try logging out of FUB and back in. Contact support@followupace.com if it continues.
