How Seats Work
Follow Up Ace is billed per seat. Each seat gives one agent access to the Ace chat widget inside Follow Up Boss. The account owner (admin) manages seat assignments from the admin dashboard.

Assigning a Seat to a Team Member
- Log in to your admin dashboard at app.followupace.com/admin
- Go to Users & Seats
- Click Add User and enter the agent's email address
- Select the plan type (Regular or Pro) and click Save
- The agent receives a welcome email with setup instructions
Seats are activated immediately. Billing adjusts on your next invoice cycle.
Upgrading or Downgrading a Seat
To change a seat from Regular to Pro (or back):
- In the admin dashboard, click the agent's name under Users & Seats
- Select the new plan type from the dropdown
- Click Save — the change applies immediately
Removing a Seat
Removing a seat deactivates the agent's access immediately. The seat slot is freed and billing adjusts at the next renewal. You can re-add the same agent later.
- In the admin dashboard, click the agent's name
- Click Remove Seat and confirm
Understanding Your Subscription
Your subscription covers:
- All assigned seats (billed per active seat per month)
- The Account AI add-on, if active (billed separately by CRM database size)
You can view your current usage, next billing date, and invoice history in the Billing section of the admin dashboard.
Common Questions
Can a team member access Ace without being assigned a seat?
No. Unassigned agents see no widget. They must be added as a user with an assigned plan.
What happens to a Free user's conversations if they upgrade to Pro?
Prior history is not carried over — sessions reset on plan change. New sessions reflect the Pro limits immediately.
Can I have a mix of Regular and Pro seats?
Yes. Assign plan types per user based on their needs.
