Why Connect Follow Up Boss?
Ace AI needs access to your Follow Up Boss account to answer questions about your contacts and pipeline. The connection uses Follow Up Boss's official OAuth authentication — you authorize Ace once and it can read your CRM data securely.
Without this connection, Ace chat has no contact context and cannot answer CRM-specific questions.
Connecting as an Admin
- Log in to your admin dashboard at app.followupace.com/admin
- Click Integrations or Follow Up Boss Setup in the sidebar
- Click Connect Follow Up Boss
- You'll be redirected to Follow Up Boss's authorization page — log in if prompted
- Click Authorize to grant Ace read access
- You'll be returned to the admin dashboard with a "Connected" status
After Connecting
Once connected, Ace will:
- Automatically import your CRM data to build the knowledge base
- Refresh contact data on an ongoing basis
- Be available to all seat holders in the Ace widget inside FUB
Initial knowledge base build takes 5–30 minutes depending on your database size. The widget is functional during this time — answers improve as the KB fills in.
Reconnecting After a Disconnect
If the connection breaks (OAuth token expired, FUB password changed, or authorization revoked), you'll see a warning in the admin dashboard.
To reconnect: follow the same steps above. The process is identical to the first connection.
Disconnecting FUB
To revoke Ace's access to your FUB account:
- In the admin dashboard, go to Integrations
- Click Disconnect Follow Up Boss
- Confirm the action
This does not cancel your Ace subscription — it only removes the FUB data connection. Agents will still see the Ace widget but it will have no CRM context.
You can also revoke access directly in Follow Up Boss: go to Settings → API & Integrations → Connected Apps and remove Ace AI.
Troubleshooting Connection Issues
If the connection fails during setup:
- Make sure you're logged into the correct FUB account (the one with your full team database)
- Confirm your FUB account has admin-level permissions
- Try a different browser if the OAuth redirect doesn't complete
Contact support@followupace.com if the connection error persists with your FUB account email and the error message shown.
